The mission of the Looking Glass Fire Department is to protect the life and property of all within our service area by providing prevention, education, and rapid effective response to all fire and emergency situations.
The Looking Glass Fire Department provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services, as well as public education and other safety training. The department is staffed 24-hours a day with a paramedic and another firefighter. The remaining staff is on-call and responds to an incident when available.
Having a paramedic on-duty enables the department to gain access to medical or trauma patients and begin pre-hospital advanced care.
As of March 1, 2012, the Looking Glass Regional Fire Authority joined with Delta Township Fire Department in a Shared Service Agreement. Due to this Agreement, there is now an Advanced Life Support ambulance staffed at the Looking Glass station. This has lowered the response time in the majority of Watertown and Eagle Townships.
